He already wowed Giardina visitors back in 2016 with a spectacular garden installation featuring enormous boulders. This year, garden designer and multiple-Giardina-Award-winner Ben Uhlmann took the inspiration for his project Oaks and Rocks from a great artist. After all, as Le Corbusier said, “spaces are created by the restrictions placed on them”. Uhlmann proves this impressively, creating a beloved place of security and comfort on an area of just 40 m2.
Sven Studer from Gärten & Pools Sven Studer AG presents a garden kingdom full of contrasts. His show garden is distinguished by its clear lines and simple shapes and colours. Cool, modern materials combined with dark wall cladding, decorative lighting and luscious green hues create a harmonious overall picture. The staging is reduced to a minimum in order to emphasise the individual elements.
A specialist in the use of wood in gardens, Hartwag AG sells wooden decks, pergola and palisade wood and garden timber in all shapes and styles. At this year’s Giardina, the company demonstrates how to generate a feeling of visual expanse in a small space.
