The owner was infected with the garden lighting virus in 2011 when he started the challenge as a technical salesman for the outdoor lighting manufacturer staub designlight.
In 2017 the time had come, the outdoor lighting virus had its effect and let Laurent Kopp immerse himself in the adventure of self-employment
Until 2018, the name sourcedelumiere sàrl = light source GmbH was only active in western Switzerland and neighboring France, so the name was chosen in French. It was born from the idea that light in the garden creates a distinctive atmosphere from which feelings of relaxation and wonder emanate.
Garden lighting is unfortunately not treated with the necessary respect by many suppliers and installers. Many people lack topic-related training, experience and the right eye because on average they create 1 to 2 garden lights a year.
We were also looking for suitable information that would actually underpin our feeling when designing and found what we were looking for in the USA. The AOLP has all the training documents and information that will take you further in landscape lighting.
That's why we looked all over the world for outdoor lights that could withstand all the demands of an outdoor installation and could be repaired on site.
In New Zealand we struck gold with one of the oldest exclusive manufacturers of outdoor lights, Hunza and LuxR.
Simon Luginbühl joined us in 2019 as reinforcement for the German-speaking region. Who is expanding our network in German-speaking countries with great success and taking on many management tasks.
In 2022 we decided to split B2B distribution and planning resp. Installation B2C. Sourcedelumiere sàrl is now the exclusive distributor and supporter for installers, planners and architects.
Outdoor lighting and installations are planned by our partners. Our planning software is operated exclusively by Kopp Außenlichtdesign.
