It all starts with the idea and the desire for an exceptional design. MORATH AG harmonises shapes, surfaces and materials to turn this idea into a work of art, a composition. With the development of the new VULCANO matt black stainless steel worktop, MORATH AG has recognised and perfectly implemented the wishes and needs of its customers and the market.

The new surface was developed and researched as part of an Innosuisse project and in close collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW). The design is now protected by registration in the International Design Register. The steel is first made tangible and visible using a special manual grinding process. The subsequent ceramic coating gives VULCANO its matt black colour. The surface now looks like a raw steel panel, but offers all the advantages of stainless steel.

With VULCANO, MORTAH AG is not only demonstrating its innovative edge. VULCANO also perfectly complements the Morath Design product range. In addition to the coloured PVD-coated sinks, MORATH also offers matching drip trays and various high-quality faucets from LAUFEN, DORNBRACHT and VOLA, as well as exclusive hobs and extractor hoods from ERGE Küchentechnik GmbH.

Stainless steel toggles and stainless steel intake grilles can also be colour-matched to customer requirements. With VULCANO, Morath is reaffirming its guiding principle: “We compose design and harmonise colours, shapes, surfaces and materials.”
