When a Swiss classic meets a master of colour, the result is a parasol that conjures up a meadow of flowers in any garden. The new ALEXO® Kaffe Fassett Edition ignites a veritable firework of colour in textile.
The ALEXO® parasol has been making Swiss design history since 1931. With its iconic silhouette and a frame made of Swiss ash wood, it is still considered a true classic today. Available with or without flounce on the parasol roof and in various colours and designs, it cuts just as good a figure in private gardens as it does in restaurants from Zurich to Copenhagen. A special edition of the ALEXO® parasol is now being released, adding a surprisingly colourful chapter to its history.
A firework of colours explodes in 2026
For this edition, Glatz has collaborated with the internationally acclaimed designer Kaffe Fassett. As a painter, mosaic artist, knitwear and textile designer, Kaffe Fassett has been inspiring people with his colourful visual language for more than sixty years. His fabrics, patterns and books are a source of inspiration for textile lovers worldwide. No one evokes emotion through colour quite like Kaffe.
With the “Enchanted Magenta” design, he has created a fabric that makes the ALEXO® really blossom: playful flowers in all colours evoke a cheerful, summery vibe. “I used every round flower I could think of to create a festive dance of flowers,” says the artist. The result: a designer parasol that clearly demonstrates Kaffe’s bold use of colour and his flair for patterns.

The craftsmanship of two icons
Nevertheless, the ALEXO® Kaffe Fassett Edition remains true to its origins in terms of craftsmanship: Swiss ash wood, a beautifully shaped parasol roof and the solid gear joint made of chrome-plated die-cast zinc prove that tradition and modernity can go hand in hand. The parasol can be tilted up to 90° and rotated on its own axis, making it as flexible as life under the sun demands. With a diameter of 200 or 220 cm, it is also suitable for small spaces.

The grade 5 quality fabric is not only visually appealing with its opulent floral pattern, but is also durable. UV protection of over 98% and maximum lightfastness (level 7–8) ensure that the splendour of the flowers remains beautiful for years to come. The special edition of this cult parasol is ideal for places where people like to linger, be it in their own garden, on a hotel patio or in a street café.
