Why Good Plants Need Time
The difference between growing and producing often determines whether plants are productive in summer – or just grow. The decisive moment usually occurs weeks before planting.
Most gardens do not fail in summer.
Much is decided weeks before. Whether a plant will be robust later on is determined during cultivation: light, temperature and the right time for further cultivation shape its entire development. What is missing here can hardly be corrected later.
That's why our work starts with the seedlings.
We grow them ourselves: calmly developed instead of quickly ready for sale. Tomatoes and chillies in particular clearly show the difference: they are unforgiving, but respond reliably if the start is right. This is exactly what we focus our production on. At the Neuhof nursery, over 500 different organic herb and vegetable seedlings are grown, many of them with the ProSpecieRara seal of approval.
What was planted at the beginning becomes visible later in the garden. That's why it's worth taking a look at the seedlings.
A large selection of vegetable seedlings and herbs are available in our online shop during the planting season, as well as directly at the nursery.
Our seedling market, with a large selection of organic seedlings, will take place on Saturday, 25 April 2026 in Birr.
